This new free membership benefit is available to all members and offers easy-to-use personal branding and networking tools.
Cambridge Who’s Who Connect (Cambridge Connect) is a social networking platform designed to strengthen your ties to other Cambridge Who’s Who members and aid you in creating and maintaining your personal brand. By joining Cambridge Connect and taking advantage of its enhanced networking tools, building your personal brand is easy to do. See how each of the features can help you to develop and share your brand with others.
- My Page: My Page houses your Cambridge Connect profile. Here you can update your personal and professional information, describe your area(s) of expertise and list your company’s major products and services. To spark conversation, we also strongly encourage you to use this space to highlight things that you are seeking and can offer others in the network. Your profile page is the first place where someone will go to find information about you, so make sure that your profile is clear and well written. You can also build your personal brand here by including a professional photo and changing the theme of your page to incorporate your company colors and logo.
- Events: The events section allows you to post events (professional, civic, social, etc.) hosted by you or other organizations. If you regularly attend industry events, add them to Cambridge Connect, so that other members will have a chance to experience them. The events you attend or hold say a lot about who you are and what you have to offer.
- Forums: Asking and responding to questions is a great way to learn from and share your expertise with other members. What you write gives insight into your personality, background and areas of expertise. It also encourages members to network with you because they see that you are open to communicating with others and sharing information. Your activity in this section can also increase members’ willingness to speak with you on mutual topics of interest and position you as an expert in your field.
- Groups: Cambridge Connect Groups are a great way to stay in touch with members with whom you have similar interests such as the Vacation Club created by member, Damon Walker. They are also an ideal way to invite members to learn more about what you do such as the Parker-CPRW Group created by member, Lisa Parker. Ms. Parker is a certified professional resume writer and created this group to discuss resume writing and help members with resume-writing questions.
- Photos: Not only can you add a personal photo to your profile, but you can also create albums to upload additional images to Cambridge Connect. Many members have uploaded their company logos, additional professional photos of themselves at industry events and pictures of their products.
- Videos: Reinforce your personal brand by uploading videos that speak about your products and services. From simple introductions to full-fledged commercials, videos are a great way to showcase your personal brand, as they allow others to learn more about you and get a feel for your personality. They also offer a unique way for you to introduce yourself to the Cambridge Who’s Who community and announce exciting news. A few members have already started posting videos; join them by uploading your video today!
- Blogs: One of the easiest ways to maintain your personal brand is to create a blog. Cambridge Connect provides you with your own blog space, making it easy to promote yourself and your services. Use your blog to announce upcoming events in detail, highlight products, services and expertise that you can offer, write short how-to articles based on your knowledge and experiences and share your or your company’s recent accomplishments and endeavors. Your blog is customizable; you have complete control over the content that your audience will read [and remember] about you, so make the most of it!
Utilize as many of these tools as possible to solidify your personal brand. The more visible you are, the more likely you will be remembered by others. Not a member of Cambridge Who’s Who Connect? Join today! It is free for all members and included with your membership.
